The price may have been steep. However, there are many people out there that are so grateful for your efforts. They don't make D-15's anymore and they are an amazing tractor. Just like planting a tree for the next generation you saved another A-C for the next generation. Much appreciated!

Did you look into a remanufactured clutch from Hy Capacity?
I have heard of people rewelding the gears if they are worn from grinding and jump out of gear but it takes a good welder to do it properly. Not sure if that is an option for you? As far as the repair costs, thats up to you. I can tell you that if you were to buy a new tractor that can do what a D15 can do it will cost you well over $30k. Years ago everyone were junking other tractors because of high cost repairs but fixing the green ones "because a JD was worth the repair". Just goes to show that JD are brilliant marketers. One thing that does worry me a bit is that tractor is being held up by the frame rails. I would prefer to hook it into the valve cover bolts. I dont think that front plate is built well enough to hold the engine up. I could be wrong but not the way I was taught to split a D series. Jim

I purchased the parts from Sandy Lake Implements. I told Brenda that I wanted a good clutch and purchased the clutch that she recommended.
