Went to start the 8070 pd Friday. Started up. let the clutch out to let the motor warm up a bit. Pushed the clutch back in a minute later and it felt very soft, hmmm that's odd, put it in gear and let the pedal out...nothing. So immediately I start thinking about a split and how I am gonna get by without this tractor, the hours and money. I took the side panel off in the cab and the heat shield to get a look at the linkage but saw nothing wrong. Pulled the steps to get a look at the pd valve but I didn't see anything wrong.
So I called my ol AC mechanic, Dave. He said he'd drop by to look at it. So he called me and said, "No wonder it won't move, the spring is missing under the pd valve." It is actually still hanging on the bolt end but couldn't be seen behind the fuel tank. Got one ordered today, $96 through Agco, it's about the size of a beer can. But I'm sooo happy it's repairable without a major project. Keep them ol dogs runnin and earning their keep. Leon B MO

A nice story. Thanks Leon. Another reason to be thankful for AGCO as well. I complain about them. However, when they keep 40, 50 year old equipment running for us. It does mean alot. Thanks for keeping another Allis hard at work and on the job!
