Hi, I'm debating on embarking onpulling my dad/grandpa's CA out of the fence row and getting it back in working order. I find 12 inch rims available. Are there any disadvantages to 12 inch rims? It appears I could install 11.2 tires if I wanted to, like it has now on 10 inch rims. But I want to go as wide as possible without impacting cultivating (or other) performance. What is the best recommendation?

does it have spin out rims on it now ? are you staying with that, or going to a loop rim with adaptor hub ?

you can buy 24 inch spin outs in 10 and 12 inch wide...... Putting a 11.2 inch tire on a 12 inch rim may be pushing the limit... WHY do you want a wide rim ? If your going to buy 14.9 inch tires, thats different.

11.2 tire is 43 inch diam
12.4 tire is 46 inch diam 14.9 tire is 49 inch diam you might be best with 10 inch rims and 12.4 inch tires .... lots of CA with that setup.

I have put both 11.2 and 12.4 inch tires on 10x24 rims no problem.
14.9 x 24 would be too much for CA 10 inch wide rims. I can't say that I have ever seen a CA with 14.9 tires. D12 Series 3 different story. Good Luck, Bob

Dad complained that it got stuck in low spots all the time. So he switched to an H. Wanted to have the best long term options for improving the traction. Was thinking 12.4 tires on 12 inch rim which would allow me to go wider still in the future, if needed. I'll note that I never got stuck in low spots with it, but he can be brutal on farm equipment :(

Any reason for not including 13.6?
