In all the junk Farm Journal sends finally something to be thankful for. The community harvested 600 acres of corn in 5 hours for the family of a long time farmer that died. So if any of you are near there and know somebody that helped tell them THANK YOU FROM me.
An be grudgingly thank you Shameless for holding the pretty until they where done.

I visited that town once. It seemed like a really nice town then, and still does after this news!

Information-there is an organization called FarmRescue.org and this is what they do in the Midwest & Upper Midwest. They harvest, plant, till, feed cattle and other things needing to be done for a farmer going through difficulties. There is nothing comparable to farmers getting together and helping others. They did it twice in eastern NE for my Dad and this was 60 years ago. Just some info in case they might be of help.

I don't remember any family around here having to worry about their harvesting if something happened to the owner. everyone converges with all machinery needed to help, plus local tank wagon companies donate the fuel. it is a relief to the families!
