I saw it. Pretty cool. Wondering if the same plane that buzzed an auction I was at last year. There is one that flies around my house on nice days but don’t know if the same one . Think not

There's another video of a pass I made that day with an 8-bottom plow being (slowly) pulled by a steam tractor in the background. Didn't take too long to figure out who was getting the most done per hr.

I have no fluid in the rear tires because it is a play toy and I tractor ride it probably 400 miles every summer, so it makes for less wear on the tires and easier to haul. The weights hanging from the belly only make up for what fluid would be, about 900 pounds.

Dr Allis, getting the adjustments freed up is a miracle in itself. I did get the adjustable link and coulter freed up on my 61 plow yesterday. Spent the most of the day doing it. Didn't use the torch either. Now to the beaming screw! Good Luck on plow day! Tracy

Doc, that is a stroke of luck to find them, and, 12 miles from home! Allis plow shares are like hens teeth, that's why I have so many plows. Find one with good wear parts, comes home.

Interesting! What is the catalog # of the 394 bottom option? None of the 394 bottom wear parts are listed in my 1982 fast moving parts book, pictured above.

Alex, I've got a similar sales book like you have posted only mine is dated July 26th, 1976. The 374 slat bottom was not used and it was replaced by the 394 slat bottom. The price went up to $175 each.

On 80 series the same share is used when you change the frame from 14" to 16". Older JD plows used a short share which did not cut the full 14" or 16". The narrow "uncut" soil at the front was supposed to help in "flipping" the soil over. Friend years ago had a JD F145? 3 bottom with frame mounted jointers which I believe was the best plow I was ever around especially in sod ground.

Now we're getting somewhere !!! And it somewhat confirms what I've been looking at. I feel my slat bottoms are a 16 inch cut, not 14 inch as the frame is set-up for. I believe my shares are a couple inches longer than they need to be. Thanks, Alex !!
