It took longer than I thought (nothing new), but finished restoring my G. It ran fine before, but had about 3 different layers of paint of different colors, painted with brushes or rollers. Pretty much everything got sandblasted - you wouldn't believe how hard it was to remove those layers of paint, but it's good and smooth now. Naturally, there were some mechanical things addressed: rebuilt the steering box, new front wheel bearings, rebuilt starter and new ring gear, new wiring harness, new oil seals and gaskets in the transmission and axle and engine, recored an old rad to replace the old rad which had a bunch of dents in the top tank, converted to 12 volt and added electronic ignition. Topped off with new tires all around. Pretty happy with how it came out. Many thanks to JoeM(GA) for answering my questions and providing guidance! Before: Now: And of course, the obligatory picture of it with the D21! |

Sure looks good; now you may be reluctant to get it 'dirty'. Seventeen AC's; that is a nice shed full. Herb(GA)
