If you are pulling a allis 7000 do you remove the 1 2 3 power shift out of the transmission if you are pulling in light limited super stock. If so how is it done
Thank you for the help in advance

Light-Limited-Super Stock to me means over 1,000 HP, so yes, that clutch must go. A coupler needs to be fabricated to connect to whichever range you want...under drive-direct drive or overdrive. Approx 20% jump between each range.

Always heard the 7000 was a one of a kind with the Powershift setup it had- and they were based on a 200 tractor- so the powershift can be removed , interesting

All original Power Director tractors that were hydraulically activated were two-speeds, direct-drive (high) and 20% under-drive (low). The model 7000 tractor had a 20% over-drive added to the concept. The whole torque housing is completely different with this new design and the PTO is fully independent and 540/1000 RPM only. Amazingly, the length of the torque tube is still 39 inches, the same as previous models (180-185-190-200).

Hey Doc , ever do any comparison with the gears between the 180 / 200 vs the 7000 as to a retrofit ?   I noticed the 7000 do not use the bushings on the pinion...
When told "it's not the money,it's the principle", remember, it's always the money..

You know, it's been since 1977 that I had my first maroon 7000 transmission apart.   It had a bad pinion seal transferring oil one way or the other. I had my second one apart in the early 90's for reverse gear on the counter shaft having the teeth all chewed up from a heat treat issue. They have been  that good !! Two 7000 transmissions in 40 plus years !!  So, no I did not compare parts to the 180-200 transmissions, but I know the gears are all wider and I'm thinking the inner diameters may be larger too.  The width would be the deal breaker in the end I think.

We are lost at the transmission. How did you build the transmission to hold up to the power?

I have no idea what JM hall is trying to do, but I am used to LLSS tractors running road gear, which is direct drive. If you want to go faster than that, then you are getting into the custom gear making area. A true model 7000 drive line would have room for an over-drive box right under your feet where the Power Shift clutch assembly was. Road gear in the tranny with an overdrive speed-up ahead of it.

Yes!! A 7000 is 27.885 to 1. Strait thru in 4th.
I had two gears made on input and runs low side. 25.4 to 1 is result. Only have 1 gear but hey I’m a do it yourselfer low budget puller.

Power through trans. is no problem, gears will hold. Weakest point is ring gear moving away from pinion. This can easily be fixed by a girdle around right bearing housing and reinforce out side of bearing housing.                 MACK
