So I've got a customer that will go no other place but me. Any ways he has brought me a 1996 e150 van. The bearing is gone from the steering column. He went to the junk yard and got a different column but it's missing the cruise feature and the air bag.
I was doing my homework on this job before it shows up in a few days. It looks as if the bearing closest to the wheel is the one that goes bad. Now I've had columns apart before for different reasons such as multi function switched, air bags, etc. So that party isn't new to me. This bearing removal would be though. Have any of you had luck removing the bearing with the column still in place an assembled for the most part? Or is this a stupid idea on my part? I had figured a simple little bearing had to be much cheaper then a completely column replacement. |

Aren't you suppose to jack up the radiator cap and install a new van under it on Fords?

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |
