Ok, Ill start as this was a deluxe top of the line fridge 24 years ago- Ive blown out the fins with compresed air a few times,almost runs 24 hours a day, cleaned it all up to make it live- question is , can freon evapoate ? Any use to put a shot of of freon in it ?

the gas does not evaporate, but can leak at a crimped fitting, flange fitting, or even a solder joint.. but has to be VERY SMALL to take 20 years to leak down... Look for "wet" spots on the flanges, crimped fittings, etc... might give you a clue that it is more recent leak and not over 20 year period.

No way to see what the pressures are, compressors do wear out where will not build sufficient head to perpetuate cooling. Has to make high pressure to discharge heat from the Condenser Coil, then as pushes thru expansion device flashes to remove heat with the evaporator coil. Cold is not Produced, Heat is Removed to make the inside colder.
