Whats your opinion (based only on information below) on worth of a early D 21 Series1 ,1964. New front and new rear 32's tires . 2 sets in side rear weights . No front weights Bare back , NO PTO , NO 3 point . Good tin . nice older paint . Showing 6500 hours . Starts and runs out real nice. Seats have been replaced This is all I got to go on until I to see tractor So just base on above information .

Thats one of the first ones , rough they bring close to 10 grand- id say prolly between 15,000 and 20,000; unless the person who has it has no idea of internet and prices , then it could be a steal !

There is over $4000 in rubber alone on that thing! I would be more concerned with the condition of the D21 specific parts that are hard to find. Especially a good chrome grille, drawbar, straight hood and fenders. Good D21s have been selling pretty good in recent years. Doesn't matter how much you pay for it, you will be spending more the minute it lands in your yard and you start looking it over! Depends what you plan to do with it though.

If its something you want, I would say go for it. I know they arent making any more of these units. I agree that what every you pay you may double that if your going to do a bunch of work and bring it back to better than factory condition.
Good luck! Regards, Chris

Here's a series I that sold in January online auction that went for $13,500. So so paint, not new tires, bare back with new seat and upgraded to turbo and new engine overhaul with shop ticket. Edited by Lonn - 26 Aug 2020 at 6:36am |

Looks like auction prices have been all over the place $9,600 to about $25,000,I guess no PTO and 3pt would hurt the price. Also surprised the early ones were only 103 PTO HP.

Looking at other auction prices and being it's got new tires but no recent overhaul and being a bareback, assuming it's an older repaint not nice ORIGINAL paint I'd say $15,000 is a fair price without seeing it. Closer to $20,000 if it's original paint that looks good and it runs out real nice.

I can't comment on the price except to say that I'm sure glad I bought mine almost 20 years ago. Muscle tractors are the hot item now just like muscle cars of that era.
I true unmolested D21 series I will become a more rare tractor someday for several reasons. There were fewer built then Series II. First row crop tractor over 100 hp. A lot were upgraded to series II with the factory kit resulting in even fewer originals. Keep an eye on 220/210's . Fewer built in total than D21. Corrected the D21 weakness. If I want to pull my 25' cultivator, I jump on the 220. |
