Does anyone know of a place that would sell just the pads for a fair price?

If you mean the discs, they are still available from AGCO and I believe other aftermarket suppliers. They are not cheap though.

Our WD45 diesel has 16:9x28 radials on it.
Fred Dunlop, G,B,CA, WC,WF, 3 WD45`s,gas, diesel and LP,U,D10 series III, D12,D14,D15 SERIES II,D17 Series IV in Gas and Diesel ,D19 GAS and D21,170 185,210 ,220 an I-600 8070 fwd, 716H and 1920H

Ok here I think I may have found a hand clutch build kit but not sure..
The part/kit number is 226767
It has enough for a twin disk system but I cannot remember if what this tractor has...

later 45's had 3 disc...remove spacer on 2 plate system and add 3rd disc. Get the right plates. 2 are the same and face opposite directions and center one has hub riveted on other side of disc. You'll need another floater for 3 plates.

Well ends up the kit is for the foot clutch I think, the pads match when put together.
For an update on the tractor I have it apart down to the hand clutch (which is a 3 disk clutch).
So I did find a place with all 3 hand clutch disks but only $350 for all of them...

Buy a new foot clutch, have the flywheel ground, and rebuilt or new pressure plate. Don't just try to rivet new pads on. Did the same on my WD45 gas

The flywheel and pressure plate is in good condition, even the pads are too..

I found 2 different types of them so I’m really confused about which one is a heavy duty one?

Engine harmonics tend to do bad things to drive lines with solid hub drives.

How many shims should be in the hand clutch with new disks, it was wore so bad it didn’t have any shims left so I put new disks in but don’t have any shims at all.

watch out when you buy them because they call a shim pack is only one shim i bought thre shim packs and i got three shims ,   i had to make a bunch out of 16 guage to make up the dimension , i do not remember what it is

Just search for Shim Stock on the internet. You'll find lots of thicknesses and suppliers.

it was just hot rolled sheet metal i had in the shop i think i used two differant gauges so i could stack up the right thickness ,  need to find some one on ebay selling full stacks of shims , instead of buying them one at a time

Well I found a bunch of shims, so I added all of them to it and when I get it back together I will either add or take away shims.
Now I think all that’s wrong with it is a pin that was missing that I think I found broken in half in the oil, so I called my local AGCO dealer and priced a new one, problem is that the little baby pin is $43 so I’m either screwed over money wise or tractor wise....
I did however take the injection pump off and into my local diesel shop last week to get new O’rings and they thought that the governor ring? was missing/broken and that was the cause it leaked so bad. They are supposed to call me in the morning with more info.

So I got the pump back all rebuilt and looking like new with some news that most of everything was wore out and pretty much one pin was holding it together from the rpms going to the end of space and back!!

As I read thru this thread today you have been given excellent advice from really good mechanics that have a lot of knowledge on AC engines. Yet, you have not taken their advice and wonder why failures continue. A bit of advice, if you continue to expect support from the forum I would suggest you adhere to their advice or else at some point everyone will throw their hands up in the air and stop helping you. Well today me and my dad started it up and it ran, after an embarrassing moment of forgetting to move the kill lever to the on position it fired right up…
Than after it warm up it started blowing sparks out the exhaust pipe so I shut it down right away before it lit something on fire in the shop.
Not quite sure what was causing it to do that but I’m going to guess that the fuel cleaner I put in the fuel had something to do with it….

Well well well, here I’m back again, but I’m hoping this is could turn out as a silly question!!
So the tractor has been running good and I’ve been using it for odds and ends with a snap coupler dirt scoop and today I decided to hook on to the 13’ disc and well I went to pick it up with the hydraulics and it took what so forever felt like to pick the disk up…
It was always pretty fast before I replaced all the O-rings, gaskets, and seals in the pump so I'm going to take a guess that I screwed something up in it…
Any ideas to start with would be appreciated!!
