I was pulling the FC today and when I went to lift the FC the tractor stopped moving. I immediately put the PD in neutral and then tried to move the lever into high or low and the lever felt stiff and wouldn't move into high or low position. I got out and tapped the valve into low and limped it back to the yard. When I would lift the FC with the remote the tractor would stop until I put the remote back to hold position. I'm thinking the PD valve went haywire. Any suggestions? Thank you.

I unhooked the linkage at the pd valve and it moves freely. I can also move the valve spool by tapping it and it springs back to neutral.

Did some driving around. So now it won't move unless I move a remote lever, no cylinder hooked now, and it won't steer either, again, unless I remove a remote lever. Priority valve?

Have you checked your pump output pressure?
Don't hear me wrong, I am not ruling out a valve, but I would start at the source and make sure you have the correct working pressure to start with, and troubleshoot from there. Edited by Orange Blood - 30 Apr 2020 at 5:07pm |

Sounds like the flow divider on the pump is sticking. If you have to tap on the power director to get it to spring to center, that is a problem. It sounds like you have contamination in the hydraulics causing them to stick.

There is a plug blown out between sections of pump. Very uncommon, but have saw it happen. MACK

I put the FC on the 7050 and within a few round the cylinder, which was leaking already, blew oil out the end. I removed it and went to switch the cylinder hoses to another cylinder I had on hand and there were bits of aluminum stuck in the pioneer coupler tip. And lots of aluminum and seal pieces in the hose. Threw both hoses away and put new ones on. The hydraulic system is obviously contaminated now, 200 for sure and possibly the 7050.

sounds to me like something in the hydraulic pump gernaded on the 200, when you drain the 200 I would use clean white buckets with cheesecloth and see what you get

Just an update..... I just didnt have time to look at the 200. Had dealer take it. I moved it several times over the summer and had to move a remote lever in order to move and steer every time. Went to move it onto dealer's trailer and it suddenly operates fine but I blew a hydraulic line from hydraulic cooler as I drove onto trailer.
I let them take it and told them the hydraulics have always been on the weak side. They flushed out everything and put a kit in the pump. Still low pressure at remotes until 1300 or 1400 rpm. They say I need a new pump but it does steer at idle which it didnt do before. Does this sound like it needs a pump? I'll do it if it needs. Am I going to be expected to pay for a wasted pump kit? They ordered the kit before they asked my opinion. I would have gone with what they recommended anyhow. My brother's 190Xt series III has always had better hydraulics than the 200. A very late 190XTIII and 200 and 7000 do NOT have much for hydraulics at the rear of the tractor until throttled up !!! That is the way they are and it is very normal !!! When I say late 190XT III, I mean the ones that have a 200 hydraulic pump on them, not the old original pump, which was better at slower engine speeds.

Thanks DrAllis. I talked to the mechanic again and he said the hydraulic flow was just a little under new specs so I think a $2000 pump is not warranted at this point especially since it steers at idle which it didn't do before. If I get it home and think different then I can change that out myself when I have time. Right now I can still use the tractor. Thanks again!

You can change that out later yourself. But you will have to flush the entire system again. Maybe it's a good idea to have them do it now while the system is not contaminated?

You might be right but tack $2000 plus onto the $1700 I already racked up..... it's getting spencive! I gotta give it some thought for a day or two. Stuck $2000 a couple years ago into the PD ..... what's next?

Is that an Agco pump for $2000? A+I had them for $1200 a couple years ago

Yes AGCO. I'd probably go with AGCO for something like that. Easier to return if defective and I'd trust that it will be right. Aftermarket seems to be around $1400 or $1500 from what I've seen.

Before you put new pump on , clean every thing out good. Remove suction pipe, suction screen housing, flush lines, and hydraulic cylinders. Any thing oil is in. MACK

OK thanks guys. It's at the dealer so I hope they flushed everything. I'll talk to the mechanic before I pick it up.
