Chris, I know what be a care giver is like. My wife had chemo for breast cancer in 2019 and has neurophathy in both feet from the chemo and hasn't driven since and if she goes out without me she uses a cane. |

Thanks Guys and probably some ladies on here too.
Cheryl will not be able to drive anymore. ( since the first of this year) That was a tough one. many more to come. We are closer than ever. Maybe fight more than ever, and having more good times than ever.
Hope things are good in Orange land. We are going tractor pulling Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday. Then a truck show Sunday. Lets see if we survive all that! :) Ruby is full of business and still a pup after a year. Regards, Chris and Cheryl |

My shop build is "almost done", are they EVER? I've painted the walls, OSB print still bled through. Latest inside pic: Edited by GSTROM99 - 27 Sep 2023 at 12:24pm |

Almost too bright. That's with most of the (screw in LEDs) lights on. They're on pull cord sockets, so I can/usually turn many of them off.

It's nice to hear from you again! Yeah Chris, I've been taking care of my wife also. She just got over radiation treatments. It doesn't leave me much time for tractor stuff right now. Here it is getting closer to winter and all of the stuff I had planned.....it'll still be here come spring. Make sure you build the new shed big enough! Stay well in Orange land...

I put a second coat over the "bleed through" areas that I could reach without getting back up on the scaffolds and it covered pretty good. A couple friends also suggested wallpaper - I was thinking farm related or checkered flags, but it's okay enough now, for me.

Folks,
Thanks very much for checking in on us. I am having serious photo problems with my laptop. So nothing on all the forums is getting much love! We have been busy all summer with starting and working on the mini shop. Plus car shows, tractor pulls, fairs, AACA car club, and more. Just like most folks here, trying to cram in the last good fall days to get things wrapped up prior to the "S" word! I will try to get some pictures up too. Yes the buildings are never big enough! This mini shop should help off load the big shop of tractors and misc items. About 80% complete on the new shop. couple more windows, the gray vinyl on top and 3 foot of hemlock below. Yep same materials as the big shop. Should fit right in on the property! Hope things are good in Orange land! The CA is still waiting for some love too. Also still need to complete the two post lift in the big shop! Regards, Chris and Cheryl |

I sure hope Cheryl gets to feeling better! Our twin to Ruby (stormy) is still a puppy at 2 years, i'm sure she'll stay the same at 3 years! oh...and she's a great mouse hunter, has caught several outside. we took her with us to the local farm store last week...(they allow dogs inside the store) and she pegged a mouse in the feed section of the store, the manager told the help to move the sacks and out that ole mouse came and she had it caught in no time!! the manager gave her a chew bone for her efforts!

Thanks! The Allis problem that we have has led me to build this 1/4 scale version of the big shop. I had the dirt work done by my neighbor, other than that Our oldest son Eric and friend John and I have thrown these sticks in the air and not hired a crew to do the work. Maybe a savings of about 1/2 the cost of having a crew build it. Will have about $20K in the materials if I get the concrete completed by a friend. Not sure if I saved anything as the time factor is worth something also? Specs: Same roof pitch, 6/12, trusses on 16" centers (yea overkill right) with 1/2 inch OSB covering the entire structure, same shingles, Full length roof vent, dark gray vinyl siding above stained 10" ship-lap hemlock for the exterior finish. it is 24 feet wide by 32 deep. (I was restricted on length due to our lot size. Had to get a variance on distance to boundary.) Ceiling height will be 10'2". Garage door is 12 wide x 9 high (insulated), with trim of the Azac material. 6 windows, double hung vinyl, one 36" wide man door. Complete fascia and sofit. Will have gutters added to the eaves. Electrical completed by Grandson Nic (Casbohm Electric) No heat supply yet, (cold storage), might bring a propane line into the building and use a small heater if needed someday. No real plans to insulate or finish the interior. Built at this time just for tractors and odd items, But could make a nice building as a wood working shop??. So far I have put 6 tractors in it and hope to pack a couple more in there when winter approaches our neck of the woods. Thanks for checking in on me. Thinking about retiring and just watching shuffleboard on the tube!:) Regards, Chris and Cheryl Edited by Sugarmaker - 07 Oct 2023 at 7:16pm |

Allis folks,
News update on the old shop! Well I mentioned I bought a used 12K two post lift for the shop. Good news was that the floor to ceiling were designed around one of these bad boys! We grabbed this up from local Firestone store. Did some checking and minor repairs to latch lock areas in a couple places. That was in June. Got it standing and fastened to the floor a month ago. Correct fasteners in 14 places. Two lengths due to 1.5 inch slope in floor. Had 3 steel shims made for the left side of the lift. Couple days ago, son, Eric helped get the cables, hoses, and latch working. Then Grandson Nic comes in yesterday, and drops the waiting 220 line through the ceiling. Puts in a quick disconnect plug to make it super sanitary. Today I bled the lift cylinders and cleaned up the columns a little. Several friends stopped by and approved the install. Should be a good addition to the ranch. Pictures ??? Humm Maybe???:) Yea I have crap all over the place! Regards, Chris and Cheryl

AC folks,
The truck lift worked well to allow me to replace a worn out tie-rod end on the F250. Also to trouble shoot a loose electrical connection on the licence plate lights. The lift has to do something to pay for itself! Regards, Chris and Cheryl

I have a 4 post lift in my garage. I used it to replace the hydraulic pump in one of my D-17's a while back. It's much easier that laying on your back under the tractor (for us old guys).
