I just got back from a trip to Gettysburg PA. Since my truck is diesel, I was more concerned about diesel fuel than gasoline.
The truck stops (Pilot, Flying J, Loves, T/A, etc.) were about 40 cents per gallon higher than other fuel stations. At PA I-81 Exit 219, Flying J was $4.19. Right across the interstate(same exit), Exxon was $3.79. Even with the difference in price, the truck fuel islands at Flying J were full. I am betting the owner operators were filling at Exxon! I have noticed the same thing in other states, also. I know the truck stops provide parking, showers, etc., but that's a heck of a price difference.

Do not care, YOU retorted to his post on Pickups as Truckers. Large Class 7 and 8 trucks since 2004 have had multiple offerings of various Emissions controls that work at best Dubiously, Tier 3 and 4 engines are in the shops more than on the roads, Deletes are occurring as we speak on older machines where parts are now NA due to "China" origins, otherwise these Money pits would be Fence Guards or as farms call them Fence Queens dead and sitting.

I was expecting price increase when the governor won the recall big back on Sept 14. It took till this week to kick in pushing 4.50 a G. I don't know out on the highway, but in town diesel is the same as regular, general about 10 to 25 cents more. So 20 cents a G more than it was all summer.

Freedguy, a few post’s back you were crowing about somebody’s ‘$80,000 grocery getter’ and here you cry about someone’s ‘$200.00 loafers’. Sounds a bit like envy, jealousy on your part. |

Gas here in Ontario is going from $1.40 to $1.48 a litre every day, up,down,up, down..... Don't think it'll pass the 'magical'' $1.50 price until Christmas, after that everyone will think it's a 'deal' at $1.45....... It may only be nickels and dimes per liter,EVERY liter(100 per tankful), but 'they' KNOW how to yank them from your pockets !

I splashed a little in the F 250 this am at 3.53. Now if the beast were bone dry and I filled it up it would cost 271.81, but I do have a 42 gal aux. If my lawnmower were bone dry it would cost 35.53 to fill it. Hey folks, we voted him in, we the people that is.

How do these non-political forums have all these purely political posts?
Did anyone realistically think that gas prices were not going to go up after demand was so low the last couple years because of COVID? From what I have been able to find, average gas prices for 2018 (pre-COVID) was $2.75 per gallon, 2017 was $2.52 and 2016 was $2.14. Maybe we are in a price cycle similar to 2001 when the average price was $1.46 and cycled up to $3.27 in 2008. I live on the Canadian border. The Canadians are experiencing the same price increases we are. A friend of mine recently visited relatives in the UK. Gas prices have increased significantly there. Increasing petroleum prices are a worldwide problem, most likely caused by increased demand as people are starting to travel again. It's easy to blame politicians, especially if the administration is not your personal preference. The fact is prices have fluctuated significantly under both political parties and probably will do so, as long as we are using significant amounts of oil products.

That's a possibility, but at what environmental cost? With more electric/hybrid vehicles and geothermal and other energy efficient heating/cooling systems, we should be reducing our petroleum dependency. Will another pipeline be needed in the future?

I knew exactly what you were talking about.
Look up the environmental and other concerns some of the Native American Tribes raised as this pipeline was supposed to go through their territories. I can understand why no one wanted it in their backyard.

There was a company that came to our farm and other farms around us about putting in solar panels.. GREEN energy is so GREAT? Everyone around our area shut it down because they didn’t want to look at it. Even the Biden voters shut it down? That’s a good example of people wanting the good GREEN energy but not wanting to look at it LOL. What a joke. Oh wait that good GREEN energy comes from a COAL burning plant |

hmm.. anyone see a solar system on ANY of the Amazon buildings ? Or say Tesla's battery building building ?? If 'green' is sooo good, why aren't flat topped buildings in every city covered with them ?

Lots of marginal ground here is growing solar panels. I get the feeling most people did not read their lease. My attorney says it is pretty obvious the plan is to run the lease it's full length, declare bankruptcy and walk away. I am all for capitalism but I think the local economy was better when those pastures were filled with cows not solar panels.

Supply and demand.
Yes, demand is up but supply is down. We WERE energy independent under the last administration. The current administration has implemented policies which have decimated the production of coal and petroleum in the United States. These policies have caused a smaller supply of petroleum Simple supply and demand economics.
Short supply = High prices. |

The employer I retired from has Solar system on their Hdqtrs Roof, is just enough area to recharge the UPS(Uninterruptible Power SUpply) backups to the Site Computer system. Fully charged they can operate the site 'PRE-Ordained' and limited number Emergency PCs for around two hours, takes 2 FULL DAYS on the solar system to recharge that Less than two hours run time.

Are ANY of you arguing this even remotely aware of the quantity of existing pipelines in the US? Risk as to environmental damage is the LEAST worry of these.
