Only close to cheap gas here was a local station decided to close as profitability was dissolving
Sold the last gas in their tanks at cost $2.49/9 just to empty them out so to not have to pay for pump down prior to new owner company taking over the site. |

If it is not political why, OH WHY is gas at $4.00 a gal here in California. We pump a lot of oil out of the ground, have a dozen or more refineries none shut down for lack of electricity like in Texas. I keep telling you EVERYTHING is about politics.

Took a few weeks more than I expected but inflation and greedy politician's drove gas to $4.00, $3.99 and 9/10 of a cent today. Alcohol added cause it makes less smog you know. This is 87 octane E 85, the 91 and diesel run neck and neck in the 4.25 to 4.50 range.
I did see TSC had VP brand ethanal free gas with without 2 stroke oil in 1 gallon cans for $21.00 the same prices as the mixed gas. I don't think MPG would go up enough to make that pay.

Gas jumped 22 cents yesterday to $2.88 "here". On a fluke, I "splashed" the tank with $50 in the AM thinking it will get even cheaper by Wednesday , I should have topped off !! Diesel is $3.15-$3.35 depending on the "brand".

Local stations owner said price went up $.25 and usage or purchases went DOWN by 20%, so really just had to sit on inventory, price slipped by $.15 and purchases initially went up but then stopped climbing over last week, MO Tourism Commission along with the Hermann Commission members are NOT seeing large numbers of tourist patrons flocking ANYWHERE in the state. Hermann numbers are still down some 30% to two years ago, some blame Covid others rising costs and not enough income.

Anybody want to up grade from garbage bags to the Yellow oil buckets to store extra gas for the next cyber attack. I got some extra. I never gave up my gravity flow farm tanks, an a O'l under ground tank I got a pump in. It is above ground in a almost legal secondary containment .

Problem is the "NEW" 'Reformulated' crap gas, month to month and half is too sour to run much at all.

The wife informed me that she saw gas "locally" in Indiana for $3.05 last night at multiple stations, Michigan stations are holding at $2.99 . The irony is, 2 of the higher priced stations are within 500 yards of a MAJOR tank yard/depot

Transport costs unless multiple Tens to Hundreds of miles from Source tank farms is negligible. Delivered fuel in the 80s/early 90s, just truck and trailer but mechanically sound. Average price to haul less than $.02/gal, Wages, Miles or fuel used, Maintenance set allowance and truck depreciation to replacement value all included. NO Station got out of fuel transport cost regardless the tank farm or pipeline access point proximity.

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.
