I got a new gear reduction starter for my 7060. It did not come with any instructions which would have been helpful because it is a bit different than the original. I hooked it up and nothing. Switched a couple wires a couple different ways and nothing. Good power coming to the starter but it won't even do anything when I cross the terminals. Im sure I
have something wrong, any pics or instructions would help. Also, what's the big stud terminal on the actual starter for?? Maybe that's my issue....

if you can, post a picture of what you have. It might not be the correct one. Local car mechanic here returns 1/4 of what they send him as it's the WRONG parts.....yeesh..

Do a Google search for 7000 series gear reduction starter. It will bring up and old post of mine from here when I put one on my 7060. It may help you. I don't have the tractor anymore.
That big stud on the actual starter is you new ground. You can also do a search for Delco Remy 8200433 39MT. That will bring you to some wiring instructions. Your going to like that starter. Edited by lowell66dart - 02 Nov 2019 at 6:02pm |

Did you run a new heavy ground wire to it? Original starter didn’t have one
