I wonder if that was just a semi submerged boat and that was a low as she would go? Surprised that they were seen with it that low in the water. Maybe they were spotted by aircraft?

I read that the smugglers use semi submersible boats. I think that is how low it goes. From what I read this happens a lot.

There have been vids of these internally, are extremely crude but well built, the people inside tend to be ignored as to comfort or safety and the draw of BIG money to operate them is enough to crew them up.

Saw a news clip on it. Why risk the safety of a service member to get them to open the hatch when a torpedo would do the trick? Or let an A-10 pilot light them up with the 30mm. Oh wait, I forgot the liberals would have a fit and blame Trump for harassing these foreign business men for trying to make a living.

Should have put a padlock on the lid and a couple of .223 rounds in the hull, absolutely no mercy for scum like this.

Absolutely No court cost or housing costs and no worry of the product mysteriously disappearing from the evidence room. |

they call it a SUB because it sets below the water line.. It can not dive under water.. I don't know, but the hull might only be 3/16 or 1/4 inch thick ?? Don't know.

from what I have read, some, perhaps many of them are converted boats, constructed of fiberglass, and not very heavy gauge. and as has already been pointed are not actually completely submersible. |

The video after the one listed is pretty interesting, shows the progression of the semisubs. They have a valve in them that they are supposed to open if they get caught so it will sink, no evidence that way. Kind of hard for the 4 crewmen to get out the little door but there are always guys desperate enough to do it.

Basically a intentional scuttle valve, Germans had them in their boats in WWII with other scuttling charges.
