Hopefully you can see the damage in the picture. It was useable until this got all buggered up. The engagement mechanism didn't work before so there was a pin put into the axle and the belt pullley to engage. I had to remove the belt to transport.
I know this is a long shot but would anyone have parts to fix it? I don't have a manual for it to know what parts I might need and AGCO doesn't list it. I hate to send it off to the scrap yard but may not have a choice.

I don't think that is a 78...looks like a straight axle. that would be a late 77. what is broken? it looks like the bearing carrier for the axle? the bushings are no longer available from agco...I got the last 2 my dealer could find.

I think it is a straight axle. Does that make it a 77G? I believe it is the bearing carrier but I also think more than that. I will do a better job on pics and get one of the whole rake to figure out what it is. One thought I had was to just fix it for use and don't worry about the engagement if those parts simply aren't available any longer.. Never worked for me anyway. This is a backup rake but I would still like to keep using it.

I should have about every thing you need but from what you indicated you may be at the start over point. Or get rid of the dangling parts and keep taking off the belt. Thanks...Dale

My neighbor has one with a hose clamp keeping it engaged and derails the belt to go down the road. I have told him I would fix it, but it's always buried in the shed, unless he needs to use it.
If it needs a bushing on the axle, I see no reason why it has to be an Allis part. I spent many years in a machine shop fixing stuff like that, and if it was closer, I'd do it just for the fun of it.

I will get some more pictures tomorrow in the daylight. I promise I will not scrap it before offering it up to forum members. My preference is to keep as a backup rake. I really like the rake, it is typically heavy duty allis construction, and the only thing that seems to have been a bit of a design flaw is that engagement mechanism. Thanks everyone for the input. Let's get this back in operation!

Was the 77 PTO driven and the 77G ground driven?
I have a manual for the No. 77 "Parallel Bar Rake" but it is PTO driven and no mention is made of ground driven is made in it.

Yea 77g an 78 are ground driven, the 78 the rear wheels hug the rake basket
