O.K.---- which one of you guys sent me this wind again???? --- Been blowing here all day and now it's taken a new hold! stuff going across country that I never seen before! It destroyed one of my shed door's out back. I got one rebuilt before winter hit, but the second one just blew apart, so now it's start from scratch on that one!

Got one of 92MPH about 15 miles west of me yesterday, doubt it hit 45 here. I do remember a storm in the early 1970's when they recorded a 142 MPH gust just south of the city of Boulder. Took off a few roofs and power lines.

Interesting that Shameless can't tell directions the wind is from the west not the North.

As for where it comes from, 1714 was one of the earlier reference I found.
