Most bolts will be UNC. As to bolt size not sure either 5/16 or 3/8 . Does not have a rubber mounting that I know of. I put a strip of light belting on the bottom of mine.Wecome to the Allis Web Site there is a wealth of information on here don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Congratulations on your tractor! I got my first (also a B) last September. This site has helped me tremendously!
I'm not sure if these will help, but here is what there are for parts on the tank. http://stores.djstractorparts.com/fuel-tank-webbing-tan-1-3531t51/ The webbing can go under the strap and help fight abrasion. http://stores.djstractorparts.com/cap-screw-bolt-block-for-fuel-tank-radiator-straps-allis-chalmers-b-ib-c-ed40-wf-wc-rc-wd-wd45-70202132/ Currently, my B doesn't have the proper hardware for mounting the tank, but the screws I have work fine. I can't remember off the top of my head what the 'nuts' are on mine, but they are either welded or otherwise attached to the tractor. Edited by The Consultator - 24 Apr 2018 at 1:50pm |

According to the parts manual I have, the mounting hardware for the fuel tank strap were originally as follows.
Prior to tractor B-58401: 4 washers and 2 screws (these two screws, p/n 202132, are the same as those given in the link in the above post) Tractor B-58401 and up: 2 of 3/8" x 1-3/4" square head bolt, UNC 2 of 3/8" medium lock washer 2 of 3/8" hex nut Edited by txtractorguy - 24 Apr 2018 at 2:17pm |

Hi Algar Welcome to the Allis Chalmers Forum. Seeing that you used the word Petro, are you in Essex County in the UK. Next thing to determine - is yours an English B, assembled in the UK, or an American B. You can determine that from the Tractor Serial Number, stamped in to the transmission Housing next to the gearshift. English B will start with EB ... Gary |

Algar, Welcome to the Unofficial Allis Chalmers Forum. You will find a
wealth of information here. Do not hesitate to ask. We are all
interested in keeping the name Allis Chalmers alive.
I am so pleased that you have my favorite Allis Chalmers Tractor, the B. I was honored to work with my father, an Allis Chalmers Dealer, for the life of the unit. It was our top seller. The questions you asked have already been answered. However, I do recall the web straps that were in place to cushion the gasoline or Petrol tank. I will enclose a picture of me with a B and my son to show what an American B looks like. Let us know how it goes. It will be our pleasure to be of service. Good Luck! Bill Long |

Algar I would recommend you get a Manual for your 'B'. Lots of good info. for a first time owner. Here is a link to one on Ebay. It is for a US assembled 'B', but would still have lots of info. This is the better of 2, it has Operating Instructions as well as Parts Illustrations. I know, on the 'merican ones, that a boy scout belt is a decent substitute, for the webbing...
