There is a fairly decent looking AC 66 combine for sale on the Dubuque IA craigslist priced at $400 and has a straw chopper. I am not connected to seller just posting in case someone might be interested. Tom

Looks nice, but the ad is wrong. That's a spreader, not a chopper. Must not have had a very tall truck....look at that auger! Lol

It's a flail spreader.
If it were a chopper it would have blades and stationary knifes to chop the straw. Those are just "slingers" that throw the straw. They're not sharpened.

There are TWO types of straw spreaders for the all crop Combines. One is a square spinner and the other is a flail type that mounts in the hood. The straw chopper has two sets of knives that pass by shear bars. The chopper bolts to the bottom of the straw hood on the 60 , 66 , and 72 combines. The straw chopper/spreader for the 90 and 100 bolt on the discharge end of the machine and distribute the material to the rear of the machine.

I'd like to find a true straw chopper for a 60. Never seen one before, just an exploded view in the special attachments book.
