A friend called me about trying to get the shaft out of the transmission.  The tractor is split, front seal is out, he says the manual says to tap the shaft forward to remove.  He says he gave it a couple pretty good taps but nothing moved and when asked he said it didn't say anything about snap rings or clips holding it in.

JW,  With my father we sold the B for the life of the unit.  We did a lot of work on them but never had to do transmission work.
However, if you go to the AC G Generator Question entry above.   In there you will find a reply by Gerald G.  In it he has generously included a section of "Knowledge is Power" on the G-B-C-CA.  It is a factory manual that shows breakdown of the B rear end.  I did not read it but I am certain it will have the information that will be helpful to you in getting your B up and running again.  Can't have my favorite "under the weather"
Let us know how it goes.
Good Luck!

You are talking about the shaft in the transmission correct? What all has been removed from the transmission?
