Recently purchased a 79 7045. Wheels are cream but the roof looks more white than cream...of course it's original paint so fairly hard to tell coming from a jd guy. Were the roofs on the 7000 series white? Wanting to do a nice paint job and not a Mexican rattle can jobbie. Thanks in advance.

That year tractor should have Cloud White wheel centers and cab roof. Now that being said I believe that AGCO changed the color of cloud white because it looks way more cream than white like it should. To me New White matches what came factory.
I know the cardboard can change the color a bit but New White(top right) looks correct compared to Cloud White(top left) and then Cream at the bottom. If you look at original ad pictures New White looks similar to the wheel centers and cab roof. |

Ok thank you. All 4 wheels look like the top right and my roof looks white like the top left.

I would go with New White. If you pull off the roof cap, the under side of it should be a good color sample.

Yeah that cloud white AGCO is selling is not the color that came on anything Allis ever made. The AGCO dealer sold me several cans of that stuff claiming that it was the correct color for the cab on my Gleaner and there is no way that was the color that came on it from the factory. I took the other cans back (one of them was so old it would not even spray) and they said that the paint on my cab was "probably faded" and that is why it didn't match.
I finally gave up on finding the correct AC color. I think it was supposed to be New White but neither of the AGCO dealers had New White, so I painted my cab with Rustoleum professional Semi-gloss white and it looks about right. I figure once it gets some dust on it nobody will be able to tell it is not exactly the right shade of white anyway. Edited by VAfarmboy - 07 Mar 2017 at 10:34pm |

The cabs on all the L/M Gleaners I've been around (and their fuel tanks) match the "cloud white" you have on the cardboard, or maybe just a hair whiter.

Creston don't say a hair whiter around some of these guys, they may not want any more white hair. Lol ![]() |
