Got a chance to get some turf tires for cheap.  I have standard rims on my 'C' now.  I don't know what size the rims are, but they have 12.2x24's on it.  Will I have any problems with putting these tires on?  They are 16.9x24's...

They sounds a little wide, for a standard rim...

Shameless is right about winter, I had turf tires on a 230 Massey and as soon as it snowed the tractor went into storage.

No way a 16.9 is going on a 12" rim. And the 12x24 tire is probably on a 10" rim. You could use tem to trade for some 12.4 or 13.6 tires.

Get yourself a set of rims and if you don't have fluid, simply unbolt the smaller tires in the summer and switch them. Make sure the bigger tires will clear the fenders.

Maybe I am missing something here, but I have a bunch of 14.9-24 tires and they are a little large for a C, I would think. However, they are the "oversize" option for a D-12 so maybe it is just me. I have the tires on rims and wouldn't consider putting them on a C. Just my $.02. However, mine are not turfs, alas, R-1 tread.

Your correct. Chains work better on turf tires than field lug tires by far.

Well, I went and looked at them and I passed on them.  WAY TOO BIG!!!
After just looking I could tell they would NEVER work on my C.
They are on JD 8 bolt wheels, one has fluid.  One is near new and the other about 30%.  Wants $125 for them if anyone is interested.  Located in La Crosse, WI.  PM me...

Kind of what I thought, when you said 16.9-24, as I have 14.9-24 on my JD and when I park it next to my B's or C's there is no mistaking that those tires are just too big for the little Allis.
Now if this deal were a little closer...well, probably not even then because I have a set of big turf tires I don't use, and several sets of the 14.9-24 in R-1 with that same 8 hole pattern... so hopefully somebody will have a use for them.
