Can I remove the check valve ball and replace it with out removing the pump from the tractor? If so where is it located?Embarrassed

The pump intake and exhaust check valves, yes. The hold/lift/relief valve, no. The H/R/L valve falls out after removing the control lever and can't be reinstalled until it's seat has been driven out of the housing. The seat's position in the housing also sets the relief pressure, so measure how far it is driven in before you drive it out. Very simple pump, but kind of a pain to set up off of the tractor.
