You can take the block to the machine shop, engine re-builder or maybe the local parts store will rent one like this one, it expands tight in the bearing and keeps the bearing from warping as it's pressed in place. Please look at the pics before you replace your bearing.

Yeah, thats why I'm asking.  Got the block back from being sent away to a machine shop, they replaced the cam bearing- didn't ask them to do that but before I started putting the Cam back, I though I'd better check the alignment for the holes.  One was 1/3 and the other two not even closeAngry  If they have to be pressed in I guess I'll send it back....
Thanks

I have the same kit Don has shown above, and it works great.  Yeah it's a bit pricey, but you don't screw up bearings if you use it properly.

O-no that's not good. You might do a test fit of the camshaft in the block if the cam fits OK, then I do just what Mack said, drill the holes through the cam bearings, clean the bearings from the drilling and retest the camshaft fit, if it's OK put her togather and don't worry about the cam bearing holes that are off.
I'm just thinking out-loud.

It they are already in, I'd try drilling, if you can do it through the oil gallery/block.  Be sure to de-burr/countersink the inside surface of the bearing...

If you send it back, they may drive them back out and reinstall them. Then they will fit block too loose and turn with camshaft.   MACK

I read this post too late and destroyed my first set of Cam bushings on my Allis Chalmers D14. (149 engine) I made this tool afterwards and it works great... about $5 to make from tractor supply. I lightly tapped them in. Maybe could press them in also using this tool.. The washers fit perfectly in the bushings.
