Theres alot of good reasons to get into tractor collecting from everything to shows to tractor pulls to tractor drives even around the yard work, but i tell you the comraderie and friendliness of people in this hobby is why i do it. take today for instance i meet an old guy at a little show in park rapids 40 tractors was all but we sat and talked for an hour. he was at orange spectacular had a b with a wauseka in it hes apparently got a museum in nevis with 30 trators every b variant made. he was the coolest guy ever loved to share old stories, tell me things id never have learned about the b or even just allis in general told us to swing by some time, its times like these that im proud to be in this hobby i havent met a single person yet who hasnt been nice and friendly and willing to just shoot the well except jd owners of corase lol. just an all around good hobby with great guys you guys included i dont know if id be anywhere without help from you guys its nice when people are willing to pass on knowledge and keep the history alive and help novices like me thank you all for being soo cool

I have to agree totally. I was into the old hot rod thing for a little while but there the duece coupes are like JD is in the tractor hobby. If you don't have a duece and slicked back black hair, jeans and a white tee shirt, black suglasses, cigarettes rolled up in your sleeve, an affinity for the f word, and a vendetta against authority, then you're not cool.

I hate when people do that hobbies should be fun. Who cares if someone else unit has more horses or a better paint scheme it should all just be for love of the hobby i believe every piece of history is important no matter brand or model cause it isnt like theyll make more of them . The old ac guy i talked to yesterday was saying he loves nothing more than to have people ask him questions so he can pass down knowledge to the next generation thats how it should be in my opinion how else will people learn otherwise

I got into the allis hobby because I needed a tractor for my hobby farm that I had at the time, but the social aspect of it very quickly over shadowed the "need" aspect of it. All I need to start an hour long conversation and friendship, is to see someone's tell tale sign, such as an AC hat, that they may share my "love of the orange". Darrel

I couldn't agree with youse guys more,,, I originally bought the D14 because of a perceived "need" but that quickly developed into an almost full time hobby and obsession to make it look Purdy and to share stories and ideas ( and ya'll KNOW how long winded I "sometimes" tend to be),,,,
I don't have a clue what it is bout an "Allis Chalmers" that triggers a want and need in people to want to know more bout the name and the machines. It's sort of a Mystique that goes along with the name, I'm thinkin...
In the city close to where I live, the high school football teams have amassed 28 state football championships and are tied for 3rd place nationally,,,!!! Quite an accomplishment for a little ole burg of 13,000 mostly friendly people,,,,,,,,,,,,and the school colors are,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,you guessed it,,,,ORANGE/white and dang close to ole Persion Orange hisself,,,,!!!!!
SO,,,since I moved the D15 around to work on it under the carport,,,I get people driving by, stop when they see it from the road, and come get closer look and,,,,I ALWAYS get asked if it is a special " BULLDOG" project just for the local parades.!! Most tire kickers think it is a Farmall or Moline,,,but soon as I tell me it is an Allis Chalmers their whole attitude changes and they're almost in awe of it being an AC,,,it is really nice to see how people think of the Brand.!!
