I would like to purchase tracks for my HD6G however I live in New York state zipcode 14709. I know that some freight companies can offer extra low rates when they combine loads. Please email ghausner@mail2george.com with shipping cost. If anyone else has track for sale let me know. I have been unable to locate pins and bushings to repair my track.

I did manage to find some Berco pins and bushings for HD5/HD6. When the shipment arrived it was short 6 pins and 5 bushings. I was so pleased that I paid more than I should have. I am considering having some machine shop make pins and bushings from my dimensions. One caution Berco pins and bushings are for Berco rails and may not fit other rails. Berco/USA has contacted their manufacturing facility in Italy to find out how many sets are needed for a production run. The problem with people like me who remember what we paid in the past is that the value of the US dollar is very low and that we deal in an international market because we don't manufacture here in the USA. The price of the steel for a set of pins and bushings is about what many of us would expect to pay for the finished parts. I purchased a pair of 50% chains for my HD6G and paid more for the chains than I did for the HD6G. Don't get me started on the cost of shipping.

edith, get me a beer! shut up meat head! good times, loved archie bunker.
the trouble is that even though we love our machines, they are 60+/- years old and demand drives supply. i am trying to make due with what in have and hope for the best. nice note about the berco bushings fitting berco rails, that would not have entered my mind.

If I can figure out how to attach photos, I'll post them hopefully this week.   I have several sets of good rails, unfortunately 1 set off an HD-5G, but my helper cut one link on them ( I have a set of tracks with bad pins and bushings, but good rails that could fix them).  I have 2 sets of HD-5B tracks, both very good condition.  I also have a set of H-3 TRacks, and a set of HD-11AG tracks in very good condition (10,0000+ s/n). I have a set of good HD-9B tracks also. Rollers, sprocket rims and idlers for all.  All my tractors have very good under carriages, so these are all excess. I own 5 HD-5's, 5 HD-6's, an HD-9B, 2 HD-11's, A "like new" HD-15, and an HD-20.

Where are you located? Shipping heavy stuff is expensive, Some people can get stuff shipped at reasonable rates. I had a complete motor shipped from the west coast to me in New York for $100. It took a long time because the freight company had to put together an ecconomical load. This is something to ask your shipper.

I got a quote today for 1.375" 1045 TGP steel for track pins. My new Berco pins measure 1.377 AND 2.000" x 0.312 wall 1045 DOM tubing. The material for one pin and one bushing would cost $16.18 1045 steel can be hardened but is reasonably tough so it could be used as is. The pins would have to be tack welded as they are 0.002 undersized. The tubing would have to be bored out. If I can not find another set of pins and bushings I will make them.

I don't usually check my messages unless I get an email alerting me, so I apologize if I have not responded to previous messages sent to me. Not that big a computer guy I guess. Have a good day "all"!
