I need the center spindle & double pulley that goes on it for the 48 inch mower deck thats on the AC 917 garden tractor. I believe the Simplicity deck is the same. Anyone got one they're parting out? Thanks.

John There are different height double pulley assy's you will need the mower model # such as 169xxxx to get the correct parts, or you might get lucky guessing. We should have the parts new if you can't find used. Cal in Ct. @

Cal, the deck is a replacement that has been put on the tractor after the original rusted out. I think it's a Simplicity & not AC. Is the number stamped somewhere? There's no number plate anywhere.

John, Didn't realize it was not original. I have a dozen different center spindles here, some new/some good used, maybe e-mail me some dimensions off yours, send me picture of deck and spindle assuming you have it out on bench.

The decks also came with a MFR# tag on them. If you're lucky it will still be on there and you can use it to lookup parts. Manuals can be had at www.simplicitymfg.com by going to the manuals tab. |

Here are some pics of the pulley & spindle. The splines are really worn down on both, so I need the whole assembly.

John It looks like the original deck rusted out and a new housing was installed using the original components from the 917 mower. What you have is the later housing with your early parts, thats why the cast spacers on the under side, those came with the replacement housing kit to get the blade at the right height. ThaT IS WHY you don't have a model sticker on the deck, it was on the original housing and not trans fered to the new housing. I will look up the part #s you need and get back to you. Cal in Ct.

Learned something new there, just last month scrapped a rusty deck like that with spindles that I think were OK. I was too lazy to deal with it!, Shell was gone. I've been fighting decks here last week or so, I iunderstand now why I canned it. I do not have that type spindle, may have some NOS shafts for the spindles in basement.

John Thenew parts that I am listing are figuring that you will use your old upper & lower housing. Center shaft with bearings installed $60. dbl pully assy. $60. top capscrew$1.50 Lockwasher $1.50 ,thick washer $1.50 ,upper brg. shield$3.20. I don't know if you need the blade side parts but here they are. Shim washer (against brg. ) $1.60, grass shield $2.65, blade hub $9.55. I hope that this helps you. The model mower that I looked these up for is 1690502 that was the 48" mowerfor a 917 from 1979-1986. We do have these parts in stock, of course the shipping would be extra.
