I just bought a 1981 D6207. I'd like to find a good used parts dealer in the USA.
If you have some PHOTOS of one that you own I'd like to see them. I'm going to restore this one. It was the first tractor I ever drove about 27 years ago. Thanks, Edited by cowwbboy - 06 Sep 2013 at 6:40pm |

Ward Brothers in North Carolina is a large supplier and great to work with. Go to wardbrotherstractor.com. Those tractors are simple and run forever.

Not sure what name they go by now but either Johnson diesel or West Michigan diesel out of Wayland Michigan. I can not remember what one is the current name. They are really up on them. On a side note why would anyone ever want to restore one of them? Motors are junk and the tractors have horrid brakes. We had more motor problems with a Duetz in the 10 years we had had it than all the others Allis and Cummins motors combined and we a lot of motors around the farm that put on a lot more hours than that P.O.S. did. Second worst thing Agco did was put them pieces of crap in a Gleaner.

Glad to see someone is saving a deutz tractor. Your deutz will run twice as long and on half as much fuel as any cummins engine if properly maintained. Remember Clean oil and clean engine and you will never have to worry about it. We have several 10,000+ Hour deutz with no engine work, heard of a lot of irrigation pumps with 40,000+ Hours

I agree with Dale! If maintained we never had any engine problems! And what few we did were plugged cooling fins or broken blower belts and then continued running it! Engine was best part of tractor! DX's were a pain with Transmission shifting & synchronizer problems. Germans said we shifted them to fast and hard.

Best thing to do is spend some time searching the internet. I'd like to see some photos of the one you have. Mine got rolled over last summer. Now I'm having a hard time finding tinwork for it. I'd love to create a Deutz only Forum. Just not sure if there would be enough interest in the USA. I'v found some over seas. Just can't speak the language.

I will post a picture soon. Right now I am taking care of one issue at a time. Changed engine oil, and got a new fuel and air filter. Found out that my "oil leak" was really a fuel leak out of the top fuel line from tank to injector. Trying to purchase 2 new fuel lines for the tractor, and replace. Then it is on to changing transmission oil.
keep you posted, and get a picuture soon.
