Going to replace the main clutch on my 185 D. What is the difference between 4 and 6 pads.

I am not pulling big loads. Smoothness of engagement is more important for me. Manoeuvering in tight areas.

Then you would want the 6 pad. It's a smoother engagement and will last longer. I would also opt for a heavier pressure plate when doing clutch job.
