If you were going to pull a vintage AC in 3500/4500lbs, what is the favourable model and set up? Thanks!

WD or WD45 excels at those weights.

I assume the D17 rear end slows it down?

How light can you get a d17 without using aluminum everywhere?

Old 1957 D-17 with cut 15.5 x 38's and D-15 NF still has hand clutch, PTO and hydraulic pump, weighs in at 3750 lbs to 3800 lbs with no driver and no aluminum. Seat frame, fenders, lift arm housing assembly, all snap coupler bell/OEM bail/drawbar, power steering and generator all gone.

Just thinking if you could get a d-17 down there you would also have a power director if you needed it for a little more gear selection.

I'd vote WC.
Much lighter, much simpler, and same engine options. Many more weight options in terms of honing in how much weight you need and where. I never found the handbrakes to be a problem, who uses both at the same time during a pull? |
|
There isn't much a WC can't do.
WD's just do it better. |

My 37 WC put many 45s and h farmalls to shame for the simple fact that I could put 500 pounds of weight on where most guys where not able to put any weight on
They lifted and spun out Where my WC nose stayed down and dug in for the win |
