I am working on a 49 "C". I have gone thrugh the carb (zenith 9705) and even rebuilt it. There is a hole on it that I dont know what is for. I can not find any solid information online about it. The hole is on the bottom of what appers to be the througt of the carb.

That hole is a vent and should be filled with a porus material. Green Magazine just did an article about it. Maybe a freind will have a copy. I just gave mine away yesterday, but will get it back in about 2 weeks. LOL Bob
