I'm thinking about doing a power unit. Not sure why.... Can anyone enlighten me about these? I have a good running engine in a parts C I want to use. So I would be interested in a unit with the engine blown up or no engine at all. How common are these? Are they worth much? I hate seeing this engine sit and not run so I figured what the hell. Can any of you all help with this?

Thanks Aj

Might be hard to find one with a bad motor since that's the easiest part to fix/replace on them. I know a guy with a starter bell housing for sale for one.

Keep an eye on the auctions in the Amish areas. They use alot of power units and there seems to be a few of them around to the north of you. Seems like if they have one running they will keep a few for parts. I wish I would have picked up one when I had the chance. Mike

We still have tons of B-125 power units working here in Lancaster County, PA. When I say working I mean out in the field running crushers, hydraulic carts, mowers, etc. etc.

Like Lonnie has already said, it will be hard to find one that's in non-working condition since they are in such widespread use. They are often repaired and put back into action. Keep your eyes out. It may take a couple of years to gather all the correct parts, but I'm sure it can be done as long as your willing to take the time to do it.

Here's one we have. Set up for propane or gas and electric start. It's been shedded, but hasn't run for 3-4 years.  It belongs to a friend of ours and he's asking $1000 for it.

I would be interested but I'm looking for a project. I have the engine, I would like to use that, plus that's the main part to a power unit. I just need the little stuff.

They were very popular in the traveling amusement ride sector.  That was before they started using a centrally located genset and electric motors.
