IH had their "Gold Demonstrator" editions back then. I'm not sure if they were marked special other than the gold and red paint job so that one could tell if they were originally part of this program or just a regular tractor painted to look like it was.

there was a 756, or 826, but never heard of a 726. If it were a gold demo you'd better buy it! The IH guys go crazy over them. There was a 756 custom, just a cheapened up 756 with less frills, much like the cost reduced 200's or a JD4000.

Wasn't only the 1456 in Gold Demonstrator outfit?

Otherwise, I've never heard or saw a 726. Only the 706 and the new'er model 756. In the '26-serie you've only a 826 and 1026

There was 544, 656, 756, 826, 856 1026, and 1456 gold demo's I think. About the only one not offered was a 1256, it was already replaced by the 1456. Besides a gold hood and fenders, the dash is painted black. many goldies hoods were painted back red when sold to a customer, but the dash usually stayed black.

I cannot find a single thing even saying that there was a 726 tractor. But if it was a real gold demo tractor I would try to get it.

As mentioned before the steering columns/dash are black on the demonstrator models is what I have always been told.
