I'm testing my spare magneto and can only get a spark on cylinder 2 & 3. It has a good spark so what could be the problem?
Thanks

When you flip it around, does it spark every time you flip it a half turn but just spark off 2 or 3 or does it skip a spark twice in 2 revolutions?

It is a fm j4b3 and it sparks every other cylinder. I bent the copper contacts closer to the rotor thinking the rotor was bad, and one sparks, but the other is still dead.

Could be one of the pawls is rusted fast or rounded and not holding on the stop pin under the spring.
That would cause spark to skip a plug and spark the next.
