I am looking for the can or tube that wraps around the shaft that comes down to the cutterbar. There is one on each end. Sr85 I think, the 10.5 cut. Also the pieces that go on top of the turtle shells that throw the crop towards the rollers. I can't remember what you call them and my book is at the shop. It jumped time on me ! It sheared a half-moon key and I will replace some bearings in the top driveshaft as well. Was hoping some of you guys may have one for parts. You can PM me and I Will call you back. Thanks in advance, Nick.

Are the parts you need available new from AGCO? I know on my old Vermeer (PZ) discbine I order parts thru AGCO. It is the same machine as a Heston model 1050. Yours may be same as Heston model 1060 and again maybe not. Just a suggestion. Good luck !!

I looked up a DA SM70 on ebay and it looks the same as my Hesston 1060 except the swath deflectors are different. Mine is not for sale either. But the Hesston parts should be the same.

I can get the parts from AGCO but the "can" or tube around the shaft is just shy of $600. The other pieces on the discs are $115 apiece. I had the model # wrong, it is a SM70 like Lonn's. I figure I can make some kind of tube if I can,t get a used one. Steve, this is the same mower we talked about a while back. Just now working on it. Thanks for responding guys. Nick

Well was that you that ordered a new drum or (can) as you call it from Big Clifty today? It's a shame parts for these old mowers are so expensive, but I guess we are lucky that they are available at all. It sounds like your luck is about mine--You cut a woman in half and I'll get the half that eats !!!!

O K Steve, how did you know that? Yeah, I broke down and had them get that part since the mower is apart. Won't have that labor to do over. The slingers were an option as I understand it so they are not needed unless you cut short stuff. I didn't have a problem before, even having grass wrap around the shaft since the drum wasn't on it but seemed like a good time to do it right.

I looked up the PZ part# for the drum in my parts book and then called ACI distributors near St. Louis. When I worked at JD dealer in Lexington, that is where we got PZ parts. The guy told me that he just sold the last drum he had in stock to dealer in Big Clifty. I figured it had to be for you. Did you order the little wear strips that bolt to the drum? If you need them,I think I have several extra sets of new ones. I know your spending more than you expected, but what other choice do you really have?

Steve, John at Big Clifty ordered the part for me, I don't know about the strips- he didn't mention them. The discbine didn't have that drum on it when I got it. I just kept the hay cut off of it pretty regularly. I believe what sheared the keyway was the nut had backed off the shaft a little. That's my story anyway. When he gets it in I may call you.
