did the Wd-45 ever have shutters? i just got a set but my wd-45 does not have the hole in the radiator cover

No,except I think there is a rare dual fuel 45 that had them. 45's used a thermostat with a bypass.It worked good and no need for shutters. Why would you want to fool with them anyway?

It would seem plausible that, as Steve says, they might have been available on the fairly rare "dual-fuel" WD-45.
However, my parts manual indicates that the WD-45 was not equipped with shutters.

There was no need even on the dual fuelers.
 Only 45's that had a hole in the tin was the ones that got a WD tin work put on them.

I thought Micheal Crowe had a dual fuel 45 and it had the shutters.Someone on here has one.
