They just keep coming! lol
This was a "bucket list" project. The C and cultivator was purchased new by my Grandfather as well as the CA. The CA he sold to his brother a few days after buying it new(long story). Now I own the C and my cousin Matt owns his Grandfather's CA. For years these two tractors cultivated side by side on the farm but havent done so for atleast 30 years. For the last ten years we have been saying that we were going to get the cultvators mounted and running, well it finally happened. I took a bunch of pictures as I am not sure when this will happen again! Heres the C. You can tell how dry it was judging by the dust on the C. We did get a little shower a few days after this picture was taken. ![]() ![]() Not the best crop but considering the weather it could have been worse. ![]() ![]() Matt and the CA ![]() ![]() ![]() Together again! ![]() ![]() |

That's a sharp team there Mr Jim! I never thought I'd see that tractor without your grandpa's running boards. The CA is a dandy! I wish they would stay that nice around here...

Very cool indeed. Enjoyed the pics. My CA has the cultivators on and the shovels are very shiny from all the use this year.

Pretty nice Jim! I NEVER did like cultivating though. Fell asleep too much and got chewed out too often! LOL
What does it say on the back of that tool bar? I can make out the Allis Chalmers, but then it looks like there is something else on it. Or is it just dirt or grease or something? |

Thanks guys. We are running 38" rows. Id have to look at my manual but I think it is known as a C cultivator. On the back it says "Allis Chalmers 2 1/2" for the bar size. There is also part of a decal to the left of it but there isnt enough to make out. I was delighted to see the decal as I didnt know it was there.
Jim ps will try to get oats harvest posted soon.

I'd have loved to been out there with you guys!
I always liked cultivating myself.
Hey Bill,
I need to load this old 45 up and come up there some time and we could put them to work.
Maybe do-able to pull trailer loads of cookies after a GTG!

I can remember assembling both cultivators new. We would take them to the farm as they came in unassembled and put them together on the tractor. Hoped that the final drive mounting holes were not filled up with dirt.
Great cultivating rigs. The C and CA were small enough and maneuverable to be a very good cultivator rig. I remember driving through the Long Green Valley in our model A Ford orange service truck and blowing our OOGGA horn at our customers cultivating with the C's and later the CA's. Thanks for restoring and posting pictures. Brings back some very good memories. Good Luck! Bill Long |
