when restoring a piece of equipment or a tractor, what are your feelings on replacing the dealership decals. we have alot of equipment that have the dealership decals on them and most are no longer in buisness. i have a friend who owns a sign shop and he could easily recreate them .. once restored, should we put them on or not ??...Jb

Put them on. It adds a little more of a story to the tractor on where it came from and keeps it original.

I also agree. It ads to the history and provinance of the tractor. I like to talk to folks who see a reproduced dealer decal at a show, they usually have memories of the dealer. It's also cool to see dealer decals from dealers that you may have never heard of.

I have some old dealer decals that says Welte Imp. What do you think of that Skip? I also have some of my local dealer stickers, which was a cousin of mine. Atkins imp. at Lawson, Mo.

Having decals remade at sign shops usually is not cheap, the first time around.
You might say, you can get 'sticker shock'! hehe

I guess I'm with the majority here.
If you have the resources, absolutely!
I love seeing where the old iron started out.

Just a thought. If your father or grandfather was a deceased dealer what would be your thought of just anyone copying his decals for money.

I think it would "pride me up considerable" to have someone go out of their way to keep the old dealership name alive.
As long as they weren't mass producing them and selling them helter skelter.
