The author of this ebay add says this shift tower off of a WD will work on a WC, WF, WD45 and a WD45D. I don't see how it can work on these other models but he swears it will. Help me guys. Have I been wrong all of these years?

The cover housing itself actually interchanges between and old WD and a WD45, so I'd guess it would fit a WC too. The shift forks and lugs are different between the sliding gear style tranny and the constant mesh trans, so a COMPLETE cover assembly will not fit a WC thru a WD45.

Should tell the crook cheaptractorparts that he's just got an old $35.0 dollar WD shift cover. an he's just tryin to steal 465 dollars from some poor soul. Maybe he should call himself ripoffthepublictractorparts . LOL
I don't think the WC and WD covers interchange... Castings are definately different, WD has the steering wheel support bolted to it.

You can retro the tower by drilling the opposit hole for pin and grooving the ball on the shift stick. ... that has been done

I'm pretty sure it won't fit the WC and WF and if someone bought it thinking it was a drop in replacement for their WD45 they would be... well, disappointed at best.

Even if it would fit the WC/WF, you would have to remove or raise the gas tank for the WD shift lever to clear!! Someone needs a reality check!!

I am new and was looking at some old threads... this topic is 4 years old and if you click on the link the eBay listing has an updated photo with a SOLD banner across the corner, but the listing actually EXPIRED. The same seller has the part still listed - $550 !
LOL I have bought running ( and sold running ) WDs for that kind of money. |

There's a WD in the Omaha CL for sale like that too... it's been listed for 3 or 4 years and the price has bounced around, but I think it's up to 2950 now AND IT DOESN'T RUN!!!
Has a big 'ol oil stain below it, the paint is average, it's got a loader that is run by a pump hanging off the PTO. I dunno, I wouldn't want to give up my PTO for that loader over my 1 way lift, trip bucket. The loader might be nicer by it's self, but I use a mower and tiller enough that it would be a pain.
