Trying to get Dad's "B" ready for the show tomorrow. Had a lot of rust and crap in the tank. Cleaned it as best I could without removing it from the tractor. Added a stand pipe in the tank and an inline filter. Cleaned the carb best I could. It isnt getting gas. I think the needl;e is sticking. If I take the carb apart and lossen the needle the motor gets one and only one gulp of gas and quits. Its a Marvel shebler 154. Ive been told by agco and others you cant buy a kit for it. I have the gaskets but whats the best way to get the needle and seat? I'd like one that is ALL brass. The ethanol seems to raise heck with the rubber. Thanks Brian S |

Tony (one of the vendors on this site) has kits for the M-S 154 Carb.
I don't think it is a rare item.

Hello Brian Start at the drain under the carb, shuold have a good stream for at least 10 seconds, if not undo the fuel line at the carb, same here, if not remove the sediment bowl from the tank again, let run for awhile into a coffee can. If it runs good under the carb the main metering jet is possibly pluged. A can of brake clean or carb cleaner should clean the jet and passages an air hose is help ful, There doesn't seem to be a need for needle and seat or rebuilding.
