Hey everybody.
First off, I don't post out here very often, but I do very much enjoy reading what you all have to say. Such a great community of folks out here. Secondly, I am getting married early next year and both my fiance and I have farming backgrounds. Grandpa has had nothing but Allis Chalmers on the farm, and I have a nice D-15 myself (that was quite a project!). There will be lots of children at the wedding and I'd like to have a little toy Allis Chalmers tractor on each of the boys plates at dinner that they can take home to play with (the girls will be getting little toy horses). Would anyone have any ideas where I could buy a bunch for relatively cheap? Can't spend a fortune, but I think it's a pretty neat idea. Any model, vintage or recent, new or used...so long as it's orange! Thanks in advance everyone! |

Very neat idea!- You could Try Outback Toys in Littitz PA- I think they have a website as well. I've been to the store a few times, lots of farm toy stuff.

Sorry there isn't any small low cost Allis Chalmers models made by any toy companys at this time. You will have to buy ones that were made years ago and prices vary on them! Only 1/64 tractors that were made in last few years were 1/64 Agco DT models and they were $15.00 range. If you watch ebay or go to toy show you can find older 1/64 WD 45's, D-19's and such but they still bring $6-10.00 range. NP ones more! Spec cast made a nice 1/64 D-14 and D 15 models years ago. They are harder to find and cost more! We are curruntly out of older ones. Sold all them at Gathering of Orange Show a few weeks ago! We have a few couple Agco DTs (End of Era ones) and D-A 8070's left, may have an Allis 8070 also.

Daren, who runs this site has some in the store...nothing low cost but maybe you can contact them and tell them what you have in mind and see if they can help you. Maybe he has a connection to some 1/64 items that he could get in bulk at a affordable price. Den

Thanks for tips everyone. I figured this was going to be more on the difficult side so I thought
I'd get a head start (in case I need to start piecing together a
collection).
Yep Gary, just like that :) Already contacted him. Thanks for the suggestion though. Scott, we don't have a final count yet, but I'd say anywhere from 20 - 30. |

I'll assume you already thought of Fleet Farm. I collect 1/64 farm toys and that's where I get all mine. There's also a toy dealer around the Ripon area- I think there name is Hounsell's or something to that effect. You might try them. maybe they can hook you up with a "volume discount". I know there's always a toy dealer that comes to the WPS show but I cannot recall their name. (That might be Hounsell's too for all I know)
Lastly you can try party supply stores such as Party City in Appleton. They have all kinds of little toys for kids parties and if they don't have orange tractors they might be able to get you some. Good luck and congrats on your pending wedding!
