They made real nice timing marks on the flywheel; but they cannot be seen when the engine is installed.
On the FIRE mark on mine you can see where someone has used a chisel to mark the front so it can be seen from the front side with the little cover behind the oil pan removed. |

You can use the set-screw on the crankshaft pulley to find TDC. It points straight up on the RC engine when pistons 1 and 4 are at TDC, straight at the floor when 2 and 3 are at TDC.

so i need to check it at the very bottum of the bellhousing.thanks for the pictures i put a paint mark on mine so i could see it but i could not get the timing light to flash on it on either side that explains why thanks again for the pictures and the info.

I have never had a "light" on an Allis tractor. Use my ear and listen to the engine.
