One of our seed salesman's grandfather has what they think to be a 66. He is thinking about selling it. It needs tires and wood for the reel, maybe canvas. This is one of those "ran when it was parked" deals. He looked over it and didn't see why it wouldn't work. It is NOT a Big Bin model. What is the value (what it is worth, not what you will pay) of this. If he decides to sell it, I will probably post it on here.
Any info is appreciated, Jarrod Catron |

A friend and I just bought 5 60's and a 66 from a guy and gave $100 each. They are in similar condition to what you describe.

Not sure how to answer " worth, not what I am willing to pay" because that is exactly where it lays. It is worth what somebody will pay but,,, as said already the prices are all over the place and VERY regional. I got $800 for my shedded and field ready 66B several years ago and it got hauled to N California to boot. In our area once you drop below ready to operate and shedded condition the value drops quickly because of the many very nice ones around for sale. Last prices I knew a pair of drapers is about the same as a complete field ready machine in our area, add tires, V-belts, gas for chasing down used "cheap" parts and you quickly get more money in a fence row machine than buying a nice one. Again, around here, machines that need much of anything get knocked in the head. Edited by Butch(OH) - 20 Jun 2012 at 7:09am |

Yep California needs em bad. My refurbed unit cost them 12K + shipping from PA. Was sold to a big time operator in the veggie business who could justify it for veggie seed.

I bought my 72 for $700 and the 90 for $400 in North central IL. Both in useable condition. I know parts only machines have gone for $75 up. Scrap prices are up so I suppose prices for parts machines are too. I've seen asking prices for $1,000 to $10,000 for "field ready", "rare" and "restored" All Crops. LOL

Most of the All-Crops at the Stephen auction back in March sold for scrap price. They were somewhat rough. I'd say no more than $500 for what you're describing, but I'm not an expert by any means. I'd like to pick one up someday too, but not until I have the barn space to keep it inside.

I paid 500 for my field ready 66 "small bin". I got 3 extra sets of canvases to go along with it as well.
