Have installed some flood lites and 4 way flashers on a cab tractor of mine.Thought I'd use LED orange marker lites for the flashers (2 at back and 2 at front) . Each LED lite has about 10 LEDs. Problem-can't get them to flash with the lowest power (2 lamp) flasher I could find.

As a test I hooked a conventional lamp in the circuit (50 watt flood) and the draw is enough to make them flash. What's the best answer. I thought of putting a resistor in the circuit but that just creates heat (or is it minimal) . Are there special low draw flashers for LED lites. I thought of putting one of those flashing orange beacons on the cab roof but I'd likely just knock it off with a branch sometime. Anyone else had this issue and what's the fix. Any help always appreciated.

Watch the draw on flasher unit rating , way back had a 57 Chev ans put heavy duty flasher in , would not work as the wattage needed to make it work was not there with the 2 bulbs in the Chev. Might look at a 3 wire flasher where the draw of the unit itself triggers the flasher and the 3 rd lug is the load. I use these on trucks where the tractor at one time might just have 2 lights and with trailer attached have up to 6.

My current flasher has the 2 lug  plug harness. How do you wire the 3 lug flasher. I'm kinda electrically challenged.
