Make sure the foam on the sides of the radiator are in place and in good condition, and be sure to blow the radiator, hydraulic, transmission coolers, and AC condensers out backwards with high pressure air every 200-300 bales.

Best I can remember there is either 2 or 3 depending on the transmission
1, hydro oil cooler 2, A/C condenser 3, Power Shift Trans cooler if applicable

I forgot to ask, do you have the pump turned up, and what is "hot" in temp numbers?
Have you used an infared thermometer or some other device to verify the temp shown on the gauge?

Well I don't think you have hurt anything yet, so long as you take the load off, and let it cool, when it gets that hot. I think you need to find the fault in the wiring, sounds like you have a wire loose between the gauge and the sending unit, or possible rubbing a bare spot in somewhere. All of the suggestions are good ones, double check your foam seal, and don't only blow out, but when the engine is cool, wash out the rad and cooler with a garden hose, and a pressure gun, not a pressure washer, that way you won't bend the fins. The coolers will get plugged as well, they also need blown and washed out. After that, run the beast up to temp, feel the radiator in front to see if the temp at the top and bottom, are drastically different, slightly defferent, mostly cold, or mostly hot. Once you get that done, you may want to consider flushing the system, and putting in a new thermostat, one that you check in a pan of water on the stove before installing.

Have the rad. rodded out on the inside. Flushing out don't do much for a pluged rad. When the tubes get coated with crud keeps the heat from getting out to fins to tranfer heat. MACK
