Do you need to add shims behind the flywheel if you have it faced? My clutch pedal does not set up very much.

No. Any time a flywheel is faced, it should have the step faced too to keep dimensions the same. There have been posts on here about replacement clutches being thicker than originals causing problems.

Should be able to take clutch rod out of pedal and it will thread outward to raise pedal.Thats my thought never heard of shims being added. Also can check fingers on pressure plate.

A D14 doesn't have a step flywheel. It sits down inside the ring gear, flat on the flywheel. I'd say your clutch disc is too thick, causing the fingers to dip down towards the flywheel. Check with Tracy Martin...he can fill you in on this.  Rick

Just adjust the finger height.

I' m thinking above is all sound advice. Because shimming the flywheel is only needed on a hydraulic slave cylinder setup to the best of my knowledge.
