I finally got one bought after trying for several months. I posted a picture of this tractor awhile back and a few of its series 1 counterpart. They wont sell the series one but i finally got them to pry loose of this one. Gave more than i wanted and the wife even helped load it.
NO its not fwd but after i snapped a couple pics while loading i thought it would have made for real good laugh and a little excitement!!!! ![]() I know before you say any thing it probably doesnt have enough chains on it and it is alittle overloaded but we went slow, only made 3 turns and took 14 miles. ![]() Anyone care to guess the weight of pickup, trailer and tractor? ![]() ![]() |

27,600. I seen a 21 in New York that had fwd tires on it and always wished I'd have found an exit ramp just to check it out.

This is the greatest classic modern heavy weight tractor in my humble opinion. Don't even have a clue as to the weight but my Dakota saw the pix and pooped it's rear end!

My same tractor with PTO but no 3 pt is 9,900 lbs without the driver. Truck and trailer the same, 22,000 lbs on the scale. Now add wheel weights and I think I see 1500 lb inside weights, likely about 26,500 lbs. That's my final answer!

Mike Nein was closest but as Ol' Bob Barker and the Price is Right states he went over. So Calvin gets the prize- It wound up weighing in at 27,280. The tractor itself weighs 14,960.
Enough fun and down to business. IT RUNS! But.................................................................................... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . IT KNOCKS. ![]() Ohh well I work for a drilling rig company as a diesel field mechanic so no big deal. Split it in 2 and pull it down. I knew it had possible issues coming into it because the grandson said it started knocking lightly when it was cooling down after plowing with it all day. said they shut it off and never started it again. That is also about the time the hood got bent trying to push it out of the way 20 years ago Good news is Ive got lots of extra parts like another hood, and a complete engine. After pricing parts i think ill just rebuild this one because i dont really know the condition of that engine only that it turns through. I broke 2 fuel lines loose at a time and the knock never went away just a couple of dead misses and then a knock. The tractor only shows 3000 hours and doesnt seem to be wore out. Grand total if you count the one carcass my uncle has our family now has 6 d21's. For those that inquired about me selling this d21 well make me an offer, I know of another running 21 still out there and I dont have to keep this one as i would really like to put our families original 21 back together. P.s. its a '67 serial 3122 Edited by CALEBnOK - 15 May 2012 at 9:27pm |
