On a d14 is there supposed to be 2 springs in the front of the cam? The book shows 2 but Im putting it back together and only have one. I also need a couple head blots. Some of mine are bad. And also is the crank shaft pulley a sweat fit? I tried tapping it on with a rubber mallet but it only makes it about halfway. Thanks

I'm looking at the parts book...
1) should be 2 springs. a small one(#5) is the oil relief valve spring.
the other(#9) is called a thrust spring.

2) can't help with head bolts,sorry.

3) pulley should slide on though tight fit. I'd file the inside of the pulley a bit, clean out the keyway, polish the crankshaft too. Add a wee bit of oil to help it 'glide' into final position.

also , be sure to put the clutch release lever on the tranny side of the cast iron boss NOT the engine side !!!! or you'll be splitting your D-14 apart like I did on Sunday.

Check for ridges in the keyway.  That old girl has turned one way since I was in high school.  The woodruff key has a tendency to bite into the side of the keyway, making a speedbump that can be hard to get around.

I used some heat from a propane torch when I installed my crank pulley. I don't like to file things like that, before you know it the pulley is wobbling. Bob

Can I buy the spring and head bolts at agco? I might just get some sand paper out and smooth everything out. The stick the pulley in the oven and heat it up. Hopefully it will slide right on
